a president who can write AND dance??? *tears of joy*
and form complete sentences and pronounce the word nuclear... this list could go on for a while, you know?
That gorgeous moment right there even got chestertodd
In some camera angles I've seen of the dance, you can read his lips as he says to her, "Hi, my love."
The hotness... just. won't. stop.
Also, the other reason I can't stop smiling:
I'm excited enough about the President, but I am super excited about having a classy & smart First Lady.

Almost crying. Just,... we need them, so much. And they have each other, which means they're here, happy, and able, now. The world, is such, a better place, and more is on the way.
that made me bawl like a little baby!

I walked down the aisle to that :)
Watching them interact makes me leaky every time. They are so obviously beautifully in love.
They totally make me all schmoopy!
Yesterday I was thinking of your icon and said to myself, "Bush is out of office. He can retire that icon now."
hooray for schmoop! awesome!
also: dude, first lady with the fashion. I loved the yellow beaded set with the olive gloves, and I love this dress. She wears what she wants to wear, and because of it she looks great doing it -- the best fashion statement, after all, is a great attitude.
Dude, I want Beyoncé to sing just for me while I dance.
Maybe I need to start thinking about this politics thing.
I don't know, do you want to get stuck with the task of performing The World's Most Important Slow Dance? I'd be lucky not to step on my partner's feet and take us both down like lamed horses.
There's another vid out there of the same scene with a lead-in including Obama asking the crowd, "How good looking is my wife?". Awesome :) At last, indeed.
I sort of got chills when Bouncey sang "And you are MINE at last" and pointed to them. I have watched this several times and I get all wet around the eyes but I get a real chill at that point toward the end of the song. Is she saying, as she sings and points to them, "And you are MY DAMN PRESIDENT AT LAST and GOTTDAMN I'M PROUD OF THAT SHIT, MY DAMN PRESIDENT, YES SIRREE YOU ARE!"
Because that's what I sure as hell think when she does that!
Some part of me wants to deconstruct what makes this such an amazing moment, so amazing that even Jon Stewart couldn't snark on it, and he tried. It has something to do with so many people looking on, tears streaming down their face, so much love and respect and recognition and amazement. Such a sense of community.
But mostly, I just keep watching it and crying. Because I don't think the weight of it all really got to me until I watched them dance.
Yup, I've often thought of your "Victory Sex" icon over the past several days. With a happy little smile.
Also, can you imagine the McCains... or *shudder* the Bushes, pulling off a dance like that? With that much grace and love from the audience?
