It's like a kind of torture to have to watch the show. [Wednesday, Feb. 25th, 2009|01:32 pm]
The richest girl in town.
[current mental state |Time to get things started.]

I've been meaning to say this since President Obama's congressional address, but I'm gonna need black and brown folks and the occasional white woman to quit volunteering to be "the new face" of the GOP. Let Statler and Waldorf spout their own ass-backward, Reaganite talking points, you two-bit, sell-out sock puppets.

That is, unless you like having a hand rammed up your ass on national television.

I didn't watch any of it, but everyone keeps saying how stilted Bobby Jindal looked. Now I know why!

He looked stilted because he didn't believe a word that came out of his mouth, and neither did anyone else.

When you have only two people of color in your entire caucus you have a lot of choices to trot out in front of the cameras to spew your talking points. That being said you would think they could have picked someone a little more likable. Instead they picked Steele and Jindal and proved that being a rich white man isn't the true mark of a conservative Republican, it's being a petulant asshole.

I don't get what the Republicans were trying to accomplish, do they think that trotting out one of the few minorities they have to talk on and on about how badly they fucked up in New Orleans is a good idea? Or that the way they are using people of color as props to show how 'not racist' they are isn't further insult to all the people minorities they have been systematically fucking over for generations?

Off the top of my head, I can think of at least four conservatives of color who are actually articulate and have something even vaguely interesting to say. That the GOP has trotted out this string of substance-free fuckers--beginning with Moose Burger during the campaign--just proves how insincere they are. They'd prefer empty vessels which they can fill with far-right rhetoric. And they think we don't notice.

That shit didn't work with Palin, and it's not working now.

I really need an "I SEE WUT YOU DID THAR" icon.
