The richest girl in town.
Are you a person of color who is a sci-fi or fantasy fan?|
Apparently, you don't exist--or at least you didn't until Al Gore invented the internet.
Feel free to chime in here to help remedy the rampant delusions of one Ms. Lois Bujold.

Obviously you don't live in the alternate history where fans of color never existed. It's nice over here in all-white land!
Ooops, gotta run, I need to jump on my magical mammoth and go round up some unicorns before they get eaten by dragons!
done and done.
For some reason, this just made me think of how middle eastern culture is orientalized in sci-fi/fantasy....oftentimes in a "noble savage" sort of way. Think Dune. Not really offensive, I guess, just weird......
Anyway, now I'm gonna have to go chew on that for a while.
thanks for the link! both comments there are interesting.
OMG OMG OMG!
I love your icon! Thank you that just made my day.
That's Polymnia, my pirate from my Three Rings days.
Perhaps, like Seal, they'd really LOVE to hire some POC but they just can't seem to
lay off any nice white people find room to expand their staff just now.
wow, it actually looks like Lois McMaster Bujold learned something from all the comments, let's hope it sticks...
Oh god. I wish I hadn't read that. I have to admit ....reading these kinds of things is a double-edged sword for me. It reminds me how far people (including me) have to go in confronting racism, and it makes me feel a little bit smug too. The smug part is the bad part.
But, yeah. POC.......what?
oh fuck. Well I never thought I'd create a myspace alias, but tomorrow I might, because that's just sad and wrong.
