Chicago, Chicago, that toddlin' town, I will show you around. [Wednesday, Mar. 31st, 2010|11:47 pm]
The richest girl in town.
In my hotel room over the Chicago River with Jason. I got in late last night, and he picked me up after having flown in the same day from Minneapolis after a brief spate of shows with Proletariat Bronze.

Today we slept in. (He needed to recover from several days of hard drinking with the boys, and I needed to recover from the two-hour time difference.) Then we grabbed lunch downstairs and spent hours wandering around the Art Institute of Chicago.

Jason was excited about seeing "American Gothic" up close.

We then hung out in Millennium Park, which I hadn't seen before. The weather is gorgeous, and we enjoyed wandering the Loop together before heading out south to Park Forest to visit my Aunt Barbara, who used to live downstairs from my grandmother and me. Her daughter came by, and it was so good to spend time with them. We're having dinner with them on Easter.

After a short stop at White Castle (what?), we went back to the Loop and met up with Emily, Geoff (both in town from NYC for a few days), Marty, and Tristan, drank wine, and shot the shit. Tomorrow, we're meeting Em and Geoff to hit up my favorite museum ever, the Museum of Science and Industry, and then heading to Shedd Aquarium.

It's nice to be here. It's nice to be here with J. I'm happy.

White Castle Holla

The Art Institute of Chicago is one of my favorite places in The City. I use to see the house from American Gothic all the time, while living in Iowa. It's good you had some real Sliders too. Sounds like you're making it a better place.

Yay happy :) I love Shedd Aquarium!

How did you feel after the White Castle? I had some out of nostalgia last time I was in Detroit and...it was not pretty!

I love the Museum of Science and Industry. And the Field Museum.

Sounds like you're getting a good balance of family and exploration.

Please say hello to my lake for me.

It's great to see the happy! I am actually a mere 30 miles west of you (near Schaumberg for training at my new job), but alas, I fly out tomorrow (and you have better things to do ;-)

xoxo
