corset & bougainvillea

Not sufficiently desired.

- I'm not feeling too hot these days. I don't know that I'm actually sick (though the coughing/wheezing from three weeks ago hasn't gone completely away), but this weekend seemed like allergies. Really Bad Allergies. Eyes swollen shut upon waking, sneezing constantly, itchy throat. I hope that's just allergies. Anyway, I go back to the doctor today.

- The Extra Dog has been rehomed permanently. My landlord's friend kept him when I went to Carmel and then got so attached she kept keeping him. However, a construction worker at the house next door saw Ed and flirted with him and finally took him. So, Ed's name is now Scamp, and he lives with the construction worker, his wife, two kids, and poodle in a house with a yard. Congratulations on your new life, Ed. Er, Scamp.

- My last horoscope irritated me: "The nonexistent is whatever we have not sufficiently desired." I usually grudgingly agree with most of what Mr. Brezsney has to say, but this one boiled down to "If you don't have what you want, it's because you don't want it badly enough," which just makes me think of the Sarah Palin/Hillary Clinton skit on Saturday Night Live. I reserve the right to rip a podium to shreds if this week's horoscope isn't any better than that.

- My grandmother isn't doing very well.
