Apartments-R-Us #1: Do you have a room to rent in Oakland?

This is a belated yet urgent call for your help! We need to find housing for 3 interns that are working with Just Cause Oakland from June 23rd through August 1st. Ideally, we’ll find housing for them here in Oakland (& accessible by public transit to our office in downtown) for those 6 weeks plus a day on either end (6/22-8/2).

These fabulous folks will be coming to us through Movement Activist Apprenticeship Program (MAAP), a program of Center for Third World Organizing (CTWO). For those of you that are not/less familiar, the skinny on the program is that they’ll be part of a larger group of young folks of color who will get trained by CTWO for a week before getting placed at community organizations and labor orgs throughout the country for 6 weeks of fieldwork – all towards being developed as grassroots organizers for social justice while contributing to existing work on the ground.

We won’t know who the specific individuals are until a few days before they start, but we do know they’ll all need housing! Do you, or someone you know, have a room available? If so, please get in touch with Vanessa asap – 510-763-5877.

Thanks for helping make it possible for these folks and JCO to have better stronger work for racial & economic justice!
