The richest girl in town.

I feel like a lifetime has passed.

I have a lot to say right now--

about spending Hallowe'en dressed as a silver devil with some of my favorite people;

about spending the day after Hallowe'en with a cute kid and his parents and later playing too much Rock Band;

about going to a party that night dressed as a silver uniporn with some of my favorite people;

about Día de los Muertos, when some of my favorite people and I painted children's (and adults') faces into skulls;

about crying on elusis's shoulder at the realization that next year I'll have an altar at Garfield Park for my grandmother;

about running into good friends there whom I've known for over a decade and hadn't seen since moving to Oakland;

about waiting for 2 1/2 hours yesterday to vote at the Alameda County Registrar of Voters after the county managed to not send me an absentee ballot for the third election in a row;

about walking around in the rain afterward to knock on doors in West Oakland to remind people to vote no on California Props 6 and 9;

about going to a beginner's kajukenbo ch'uan fa kung fu class last night at Hand to Hand, the largest woman-run martial arts school on the west coast and the kwoon at which I trained when I was a child. My sigung died a few years ago of cancer, but I'll justify wearing the purple belt she gave me again soon;

about waking up way too early this morning even if I did oversleep because the alarm didn't go off to drop No on 6 doorhangers in East Oakland;

about then driving about three hours total to and from San Jose for a five-hour interview at A Big Game Company...

But right now I'm trying to decide if I have it in me to go back to Just Cause for more GOTV work before heading out to watch the returns distract myself from the election with friends.

Hopefully tomorrow, I will sleep in and then spend the day screaming "BOOYAH!" a lot and sporadically dancing to "U Can't Touch This."
