The Black Forrest Gump. [Wednesday, Feb. 25th, 2009|09:56 pm]
The richest girl in town.
I just watched a documentary profiling Gordon Parks. I knew him as a photographer, but he was so much more: a filmmaker (Shaft), a novelist, poet, classical and jazz composer, ballet choreographer, painter. Name a moment or a figure in history--Ingrid Bergman's affair with Roberto Rosellini, The Black Panthers, Malcolm X and the Nation of Islam--and he was there.

I don't remember, but Alfre Woodard narrated, and Denzel Washington was one of the producers.

Nice. I'll have to find this. I was unpacking and found my copy of "A Choice of Weapons". I'll have to re-read it.
