Lauren, my friends all tell me that we should be friends. :) I just moved to Oakland from Austin and when Wammo learned that we weren't best buds, he insisted I look you up. So, hello! Nice to meet you!
Hey there! lazip
also sent me a message saying I should welcome you to the Bay, so welcome!
I don't know what you're up to these days or where you're living (she mentioned your partner is working at The Happiest Place on Earth--I'm very jealous and a four-minute bike ride from there), but I currently have lots of time on my hands while I continue to look for a job.
We should hang out! I'm performing this Friday night in the city at a variety and burlesque show. Just posted about it--it's at the DNA Lounge on 11th Street at Harrison.
I am also in job-hunting limbo. Oof! Looking for a job is the worst job ever! We should totally hang out while we both have so much free time. Solidarity, sister!
I just met Tracy a couple of weeks ago when she came to Austin for the Danskin and I am smitten! She is so awesome! My friend Susan and I gave her the hard pitch to move to Austin, where we guaranteed she would meet the man of her dreams within 6-12 months. That may have been a bit much to promise. ;)
I'm living in northern Oakland, right where Telegraph and Shattuck come together. If you live close to Pixar, I bet we're pretty close to each other! Wanna have lunch tomorrow? We can compare job search tips and horror stories and you can tell me more about this crazy wonderland I've moved to.

Minneapolis is fantastic, only... snow, 8 months out of the year. But, the lakes, the queers, the colleges, the awesome parks and public work art and good food and big streets and lovely, lovely homes which are so inexpensive to live in snow 8 months out of the year.
