Today we slept in. (He needed to recover from several days of hard drinking with the boys, and I needed to recover from the two-hour time difference.) Then we grabbed lunch downstairs and spent hours wandering around the Art Institute of Chicago.
Jason was excited about seeing "American Gothic" up close.
We then hung out in Millennium Park, which I hadn't seen before. The weather is gorgeous, and we enjoyed wandering the Loop together before heading out south to Park Forest to visit my Aunt Barbara, who used to live downstairs from my grandmother and me. Her daughter came by, and it was so good to spend time with them. We're having dinner with them on Easter.
After a short stop at White Castle (what?), we went back to the Loop and met up with Emily, Geoff (both in town from NYC for a few days), Marty, and Tristan, drank wine, and shot the shit. Tomorrow, we're meeting Em and Geoff to hit up my favorite museum ever, the Museum of Science and Industry, and then heading to Shedd Aquarium.
It's nice to be here. It's nice to be here with J. I'm happy.
