Everyday Sunshine: The Story of Fishbone [Friday, Oct. 22nd, 2010|02:10 pm]
The richest girl in town.
I was pretty excited to see Fishbone perform in San Francisco last week, but last night I finally saw the new documentary about them, Everyday Sunshine:  The Story of Fishbone, at the local documentary film festival. It's an amazing story of the band's formation while the members were all in junior high school in the Valley and their successes and trials and tribulations since. But what struck me the most was how it's the story of a bunch of black men who really honestly, obviously love each other and don't have any problem saying so. I want to see more of this on the big and small screen. If you get a chance to see this film when it comes out in theatrical release in a few months, you should.
